About topic

In this theoretical sub-module, small and medium-sized entrepreneurs (users) will be able to learn and understand:

  • the legal basis for processing personal data through video surveillance systems
  • under what conditions it is permissible to record employees in the workplace
  • what must be included in the notice regarding video surveillance
  • who has the right to access video recordings
  • how long video recordings can be retained
  • the processing of personal data and monitoring of drivers of company vehicles
  • the processing of biometric personal data in the private sector

The goal of this sub-module is to familiarize entrepreneurs with the legal foundations for processing personal data through video surveillance systems, to point out situations when such processing is not lawful, and to teach them how to regulate the processing of personal data through video surveillance systems (which should include a notice about video surveillance intended for individuals affected by the video surveillance system, define who has access to the recordings, record who accesses the recordings, ensure that only authorized individuals have access to the recordings, do not retain the recordings for more than 6 months, etc.).

Learning outcomes

  • razumjeti pod kojim uvjetima je obrada osobnih podataka putem videonadzora zakonita
  • identificirati odgovarajući pravni temelj za obradu osobnih podataka putem sustava videonadzora
  • opisati što mora sadržavati Pravilnik o videonadzoru i obavijest o videonadzoru namijenjene ispitanicima

Certification information

After reviewing the video recordings and theoretical part, the user will be able to take a test (quiz) and answer questions to check their knowledge. The user will be presented with statements, and they can indicate whether they consider them to be true or false. After answering all the questions in the quiz, a section called RESULTS will appear with explanations for the quiz answers. The system will generate a certificate as proof of passing the theoretical sub-module if the user achieves a minimum of 80% correct answers.
